Denver International Airport (DIA) has seen lots of upgrades recently, but the terminal is not the only thing cashing in on the benefits. Our beloved airport is also seeing a considerable increase in passenger traffic. In fact, DIA saw a 3% increase since March! That’s a lot of people!
So, what’s that mean for the airport?
It means more than 5.5 million travelers came through the airport making March the busiest in the airport’s history! Way to go DIA!
The weather can’t hold us down!
The Blast Cyclone that impacted 2,200 flights on March 13th and 14th didn’t even affect the numbers negatively. If you’re a local, you know that storm packed a punch!
But there is more good news still. As the statistics continue to roll in, DIA also adds that January to March was the busiest first quarter EVER!
Summer travel will break more records!
With the busy summer travel season approaching, the airport expects to see several more record-breaking days partly because DIA airline partners continue to add routes and expand to new destinations. This gives residents of Colorado more places to travel and conduct business throughout the country.
