This just in- United Airlines is now offering 500 daily departures three times a week out of Denver International Airport and have no plans to stop there! These flights are recording-breaking for the legacy carrier that has operated in the Denver area since the 1930s.
This is a result of a rapid expansion of the Chicago-based airline’s network which operates out of its Denver hub.
United has added 32 new routes out of DIA since the beginning of 2018 which include direct international flights to London and Frankfurt and in the U.S., service to Fairbanks, Alaska. These new flights have created over 2,600 additional connection opportunities for customers.
In addition to that, the new Denver flight banks have upped the number of morning flights open to business customers traveling from Denver to the East and West Coasts with increased connectivity to the Midwest and mountain regions.
Officials reported that a whopping 13,400 more flights left Denver in 2018 than in 2017! That is one heck of an increase! Way to go United!
Plans to expand.
DIA is in the middle of a concourse expansion that will add 39 gates to the airport. And with United Airlines increased flights, it is hoping to get their paws on some more of them.
United is, after all, one of the region’s largest airlines and local employers, so more power to the economy!
